Guinea Worm in the Inguinal Canal

On the evening of 11th November, 1919, I was called to see an urgent case in the hospital, a patient admitted for the treatment of strangulated hernia. His name was Mandi Pechiar, of 147, Labour Corps, aged 20 years. From his appearance it struck me that ihe had no abdominal trouble. The patient noticed a swelling in the left inguinal region on the evening of 10th November, 1919, while he was in his bed. Since then he passed motions and urine and had no sickness.
